FBI: RansomHub ransomware breached 210 victims since February

The FBI has disclosed that the Ransomhub ransomware group has successfully breached 210 victims since February 2024, targeting a wide array of sectors and causing severe disruptions. This group encrypts victims' data and demands significant ransom payments in exchange for decryption keys. The widespread impact of these attacks has led to considerable financial and operational damage to the affected organizations.
In response, the FBI is urging businesses to bolster their cybersecurity measures to protect against the rising threat of ransomware. This situation highlights the growing sophistication and persistence of ransomware groups, underscoring the need for enhanced defenses and proactive strategies to safeguard sensitive data and operations. The FBI’s report also emphasizes the importance of not paying ransoms, as doing so only fuels further criminal activity.
